Event Description

Charles Lewton-Brain shares the magic of foldforming in an intimate setting at the Center for Metal Arts' annual conference August 3-6, 2012. This year's theme, “Moving the Edge: Further Developments in Foldforming”  celebrates the way that artists, crafters and makers continue to push the edge of what foldforming can be. Four days of talks, demonstrations of the families of folds, tips and techniques from the master teacher, your own hands-on time at the workbench under Charles Lewton-Brain, networking and more. Bring your questions--one bench tip or new idea can pay for the entire 4-day event. One day and 2-day passes available. Easy online registration at www.centerformetalarts.com, plus room-share and other information on the Events page of Center for Metal Arts on Facebook.

Interviewing NCECA 2013 Emerging Artist Linda Swanson

NCECA 2013 Emerging Artist Linda Swanson makes us think about ceramic materials in a new and dynamic way.  Her installation, site specific, fired and unfired work all has an emphasis on time, material and transformation.  Linda generously shared her time and thoughts with me about her current studio practice and the path that has led her there.  I hope you enjoy this interview with Linda Swanson.  You can see more of her work at: …See More
