Mokume Gane

Instructor:  Eric Burris

Feb 17 – 19

7pm – 10pm on Friday

10am – 5pm Sat & Sun

 

This is an incredible opportunity to learn to make and use your own Mokume Gane!! Each student will make and forge their own 16 layer silver and copper billet. And then make either patterned sheet or a seamless forged ring! Techniques include: diffusion bonding of non-ferrous metals; Mokume Gane patterning; metal forging of non-ferrous materials; hard silver soldering and seamless ring making. Register early, this class will fill fast!

Eric Burris is a jeweler and silversmith from Maryland. He is best known for his sculptural jewelry, influenced by nature, architecture, travels – and the materials themselves.  Eric often creates pieces featuring Mokume Gane with wood – and sometimes maps.
