What's Your Problem?
Instructor: Richard Salley
April 8 & 9
10 am – 5pm
Because found-objects are so unique, they present special problems when you want to turn them into jewelry. There are design problems, attachment problems, motivation problems….what’s your problem? In this special problem-solving seminar we will do some high level brainstorming to help you solve your creative problem and get you unstuck. There is no agenda other than to help you solve your problem or problems to bring your jewelry idea to completion. So, bring your ‘problem children’ with you, those fabulous objects that you’ve found but can’t decide exactly how to get started or what to do next, and together we will work on solutions.
Course #MC11489 $275.
Richard Salley’s work with alternative materials and non-traditional techniques is unique – and stunning! He considers himself not so much a jeweler but rather a ‘maker of stuff’ - including digital art, mixed media collage/assemblage, sculpture and jewelry. His work has been featured in Belle Armoire Jewelry and Jewelry Artist magazines, Susan Lenart-Kazmer’s book Making Connections, Collage, Assemblage and Altered Art by D. Maurer-Mathison, Exhibition 36 by Susan Tuttle and Contemporary Copper Jewelry by Sharilyn Miller.
