PARTICIPATORY SPORT FOR CRAFT ARTISTS
JULY 10, 4-6pm
An exhibition of solo and collaborative works from jeweler, Monika Krol and painter, Danielle Rizzolo. Conceived through a mutual interest in antiquated objects, portraits of unknown identities, and curiosity in their obscure history, this work helps redefine our understanding of a patron as a mentor, exalted and revealed. The inspiration for the work is the individuals whom they admire the most. The jewelry is created for them and the paintings depict them lavished in the jewels The imagery of the work is dictated by characteristics of their personality, references to their art, and the artists own conceptions of their mentors. They become chosen patrons of a sort and are given the gift of immortality through art.
