Screenprinting is easy and fun—this workshop will show you how to screenprint, create your own screens, choose paints/inks and how to set up a small home printing studio. Begin by constructing silk screens from inexpensive, readily available materials and then experiment with five different stencils (paper, hot wax, wax rubbings, mylar and drawing fluid/blockout.) Students will layer images using both transparent and opaque paints. Also covered is creating a portable print table (for textiles), screen washout areas, sources for materials and choosing inks/paints.
