Discover the ancient art of flameworking while creating beads from hot glass. Using Hot Head Torches, a portable and inexpensive torch, this workshop focuses on decorating beads with stringers. Whether used abstractly or precisely, stringer designs are used in the techniques of raking, feathering, furrowing & ‘spider webbing’. Darlene has been creating glass beads since 1997. In 2009, her Green with Envy Necklace was one of five finalists in the Saul Bell Design Award, ‘beads’ category. New and returning students are welcome, and can expect to create four to ten glass beads.
