Event Description

Explore color and form in jewelry using nature as inspiration. Learn to enamel on three-dimensional forms, creating colorful surfaces by layering transparent and opaque enamels and developing rich surface textures through sugar-firing enamels. Learn techniques for setting your enamel piece to create a finished jewel. We will cover metal forming techniques including shell forming, fold forming and die forming.  We will also cover the use of acrylic and watercolor enamels, foils and underglazes to add detail. Techniques for setting enamels will include prong setting, tab setting, pre-soldered findings and frame setting. Previous metal working experience is helpful, but all levels are welcome.
