Tool Making Workshop

If you work with metals – learning to make or alter your own tools will open doors you never knew were there! And there simply isn’t anyone better to learn from than Megan! We will explore tool design and learn to make of a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous tools; including shaping, hardening, and finishing high carbon steel. You will come away from this workshop with new tools – and the skills you need to make the right tool when you need it!
Course # F09W1120 $135. Materials fee: $25. includes basic tools and supplies; additional tool steel and materials available for purchase.
NANCY MEGAN CORWIN is a jeweler, metalsmith, teacher, and writer. She has taught at Penland, Haystack Mountain School of Craft, etc. and is an adjunct instructor at Cabrillo and Monterey Peninsula Colleges in California. Megan’s work is included in private collections and in the permanent collections of the Tacoma Art Museum, Washington; the Victoria and Albert Museum, London etc. Her new book: Chasing & Repousse: Methods Ancient and Modern has just been published by Brynmorgan Press. She is represented in Seattle at Facere Jewelry
