Registration for the SNAG Portland Conference is live (with reduced prices!). The conference will be here before we know it, but there's still plenty of ways to get involved.

For those of you lucky enough to snag a Halstead Challenge kit, I hope you're further along on your brooch than I am. Halstead has been putting out some great videos on brainstorming, that I've found to be super helpful. Also be sure to check out the HalsteadChallenge tag on Instagram to see how fellow artists are approaching this year's theme of "Hidden".

For students, today is the dealing for both the Student Exhibition and the Conference Student Scholarships. If your students don't already have their application is, you can find for information on these and other SNAG Student Initiatives here.

If you're attending the conference, perhaps think about heading in a few days early to participate in some of the exciting pre-conference workshops being offered. These workshops will inspire your entrepreneurial spirit, connect you in new ways to our field and further your goals by giving you access to people who have made a career of making, selling and are experts in their field. Oregon College of Art and Craft and Form 3-D Foundry will also be offering off-site pre-conference workshops. For more information about this year's workshops go here. You can now register for these workshops when you register for the conference.

If you're feeling a little strapped for cash, or you'd just like to help out, consider signing up for the Student and New Professional Work Exchange. Work six hours at the conference and receive a refund of 40% off your conference registration! Students will receive 40% off of the $175 student member conference rate and New Professionals will receive 40% off the $350 member conference rate. Only 15 spaces are available for each level at the 2018 SNAG conference in Portland, OR. An email with instructions on how to sign up will go out to SNAG members on February 1, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time. Spaces are available on a first come, first-served basis and tend to fill up right away. There will be a waitlist, but I recommend jumping on this as early as you can! To learn more and see if you're qualified e-mail Tabitha Ott, Conference Volunteer Coordinator, at cvc@snagmetalsmith.org.

Keep checking with our other social media outlets for the latest up dates on the conference!
