The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Discover East London’s hidden art and design gems

Hidden Art is going back to its roots of revealing Hidden treasures. This time it is not only revealing studios of designers and makers based in East London, but also other treasures that have given East London its charm and attraction over the years.

It is part of the Airbnb Experiences and is set over three days. In a small group of six you will sample the delights of East London, including meals in unexpected places, and buildings. It allows for ample time to spend more time in East London on your own or with other group participants.

Hidden Art Airbnb Experience
The tailor-made experience is run by Dieneke Ferguson, the founder and CEO of the not for profit organisation Hidden Art. Your fee will be reinvested in Hidden Art and help its work to support and promote designers and makers. That way you will directly contribute to the designers and makers community whilst at the same time giving you a unique insight into the world of East London and Design and turn you into an active participant.

What REACH Means for Users of Chemicals

What is REACH?
REACH  (Registration,  Evaluation,  Authorisation  and restriction  of  Chemicals)  is  the  current  system  for controlling chemicals in Europe. It became law in the UK on 1st June 2007. You need to understand the ways it might affect you.

Do you use chemicals in your business?
Most  businesses  use  chemicals  and many  rely  on  them  without  realising  it.  For  example,  you  may  use them in the manufacture of finished goods or simply to keep your machinery operating and your premises clean. Examples include paints, metals, glues, solvents and cleaning materials.
