The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Don't miss Dauvit Alexander, aka the 'Justified Sinner', talking about his amazing narrative jewellery using found objects, THIS WEDNESDAY 21st JUNE at the Goldsmiths' Centre, London.

Multi-skilled jeweller Dauvit Alexander scavenges old warehouses, scrapheaps and disused airfields for interesting abandoned objects. He uses these in narrative pieces of jewellery, often incorporating castings, precious metals and set gemstones to tell stories. He’ll explain with slides his approach to design and making, and show examples from others working in a similar vein.

Tickets are £10 and include the talk and a glass of wine, as well as a chance to see the ACJ's 20:20 Visions exhibition featuring over one hundred pieces of some of the best jewellery from some of the best makers.

Book online now for 'Found Objects: 20:20 Visions Celebrating 20 years of the ACJ': Goldsmiths' Centre

Art Jewelry Forum is planning a trip to Paris, France from October 12-15, 2017.

While Paris isn't known as a big art jewelry destination--at least not for the kind of jewelry we love--this year there are some intriguing events that might be especially engaging to you as an art jewelry lover. Plus, of course, Paris is beautiful at any time, for any reason.

Find out more information and reserve your seat here.

We hope you enjoy the possibilities for learning, travel, and fellowship that are at the core of our mission. Remember to register by June 15, 2017 to reserve your seat.

With warm regards,

Jewellery since the 1970's

Concrete and broken bottles, nails, ice, plastic, wallpaper, cork, rubber, volcanic lava...?

These are materials makers have been using since The New Jewellery movement of the 1970’s to create dramatic pieces of work - and which can be seen from 21 July - 28 August in our touring exhibition  I AM HERE at The Hospital Club gallery in Covent Garden.

Be dazzled by exquisite works from renowned sculptors Geoffrey Clarke and Lynn Chadwick, and many of the most significant British and international makers of the last five decades.
