The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Hole & Corner
-

A panel discussion hosted by British Craft Pavilion curators Hole & Corner in The Common cafe situated in the British Craft Pavilion. With Forest + Found, Stoff Studios, Julian Mayor and Par Avion, on where ideas come from, their conceptual approach and how they collaborate with others.

Hole & Corner is independent quarterly print magazine, dedicated to stories of craft, beauty, passion and skill. The title comes from an old English term meaning a secret place: somewhere you go to escape the world, to be inspired, to contemplate and create. Sharing on behalf of Coin Street Builders:

Coin Street Community Builders are searching for innovative, independent designer-makers to join the Oxo Tower Wharf community. They are accepting applications from retailers operating across a range of design disciplines (from fashion and craft to product design and technology).

There is a large triple unit available to let from September 2017 that faces the Courtyard, one second floor Courtyard unit to let from October, and one first floor Riverside unit available from November 2017.

These rarely available units are heavily subsidised to enable creative business owners to launch or upscale their self-designed products and hopefully build a successful enterprise.

To find out more or to arrange a viewing please contact Belinda Moore on 020 7021 1650 or email lettings@coinstreet.org. The lettings brochure is available to download from http://www.oxotower.co.uk/venue/retail-studios/

Are you interested in moving your designer maker business to the next level, but unsure how to go about it? The Jewellery Production 1 workshop (Jewellery P1) has been created to help small jewellery designer-maker businesses ready themselves to work with larger scale suppliers and respond to the changes in the jewellery market today.

This two day intensive course will cover a range of topics designed to provide attendees with the knowledge and tools to help increase profitability, maximise time and attract new customers; exploring some of the ways in which you can extract more value from your business, without diluting your brand.
Application deadline: 11:59pm, 22nd September 2017
The workshop itself takes place on 18th and 19th October 2017
