The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Get Into Jewellery has been developed by Creative & Cultural Skills, the licensed Sector Skills Council for the UK’s creative and cultural industries.

Why we're doing this

We want to ensure that every young person across the UK has access to accurate information about working in the creative and cultural sector.

For those aspiring to get into the creative and cultural industries, half the problem is not knowing what opportunities are out there and what skills and experience are needed.

We are really excited to be running this year's 'Horse in Art' Exhibition in conjunction with The Horse Trust charity. The opening weekend will take place at The Horse Trust's beautiful HQ just down the road from the gallery, near Speen, in a stunning recently renovated Tythe Barn. There will be 3 VIP events as well as a gallery PV.

We are delighted to be able to support The Horse Trust by donating half our commission on sales made suring the opening weekend, and as we don't charge an entry free to the gallery, we will also ask visitors to make a voluntary donation.

We want the exhibition to show the huge diversity in interpretation, style & media on one theme (equine). All media is welcome.

We are looking for diversity of subject as well as style - acceptable subjects include all breeds, equine sports, plus zebras, donkeys and more mythical pieces (e.g unicorns, Pegasus, etc).
As ever we are also keen to ensure the exhibition shows a wide range of styles from traditional to contemporary.

We are always happy to discuss the suitability of work - so just give us a call or drop us an e-mail if you're in any doubt.

No entry fee or hanging fee.

Our next event, The Craft & Design Experience, will be held from 21-23 June in Henley on Thames and will feature a number of workshops and demonstrations to enable you to experience the creative processes involved in contemporary craft. As well as these workshops and demonstrations, there will be nearly 200 exhibitors displaying and selling their work as well as a wide range of entertainment making this event a must-visit whatever the weather. Here's a selection of some of the workshops being featured at the event this year. We hope you will try some of these.
