The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Marsh Awards for Excellence in Gallery Education

In 2011 engage and the Marsh Christian Trust will present an inaugural award to celebrate the achievements of those working in learning and education within gallery or visual arts contexts. The awards are principally for colleagues working within galleries (freelance, salaried or as volunteers), although those working with other visual arts organisations may also apply.

Two jewellery workspaces are available at £170 per month to share with three jewellers, an installation artist and an architect. Rent includes broadband and business rates but is exclusive of utility bills. The studio is located in New North Road, 10 minutes walk from Angel or Old Street. We also have a shared meeting room, our own shopfront gallery, a lovely garden & central heating.

Call Chrysanthe on 0794 1550 632, Jan on 07963301144 or send an email to space@studionorth.org.uk if you would like to come for a viewing.
