is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.
Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.
We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Arts Fest, RHS Garden Wisley
16-17 July 2016
Craft in Focus has again been invited to work with RHS Garden Wisley this summer with Arts Fest. Now in its third year the event will again focus on bringing a 'live' fair to the Garden. The RHS will be providing a wide range of music, theatre, storytelling etc while, for our part, we will coordinate a mix of demonstrating exhibitors and workshops to sit alongside this exciting event.
Click to see images from a previous event on our Facebook page.
The event will be promoted by the RHS advertising campaign, backed up with additional marketing by ourselves. As is usual for events at the Garden, it would be expected to attract in the region of 10,000 visitors, with approximately 15 to 20 craft based exhibitors expected.
We are seeking up to 20 exhibitors from all areas of craft/art that, as well as displaying their work for sale, can offer an interesting and informative demonstration and, in particular, those who are able to run small workshops for the visitors.
Workshops may be short, drop in and go, or structured and more formal with a finished piece to take away.
It is difficult to state an exact cost to participate, except that it will be modest, as some demonstrations/workshops will be more involved than others. Structured workshops, for instance a batik workshop, should be available to book in advance, so it is important that capacity of workshop is stated, and how many workshops per day.
If you wish to apply to be involved in this new and exciting project please return this form ASAP. We shall then contact you to discuss further what you are offering and suggest charges or expenses etc. http://files.ctctcdn.com/b0eaa6dd101/6b9c123a-c313-43a7-b97a-89331f...
AJF news
Exciting news ... Art Jewelry Forum has been awarded the 2015 Nobel Jewellery Peace Prize from the Swedish group Diagonal Art Projects! The award is in recognition of AJF's work to bring international awareness to the field, specifically through the activities of AJF's Ambassador Program, headed by Australian Kevin Murray. AJF is thrilled to be recognized for the international nature of our work.
Here's what Diagonal Art Projects had to say:
Art Jewelry Forum is stepping up the game of global awareness of art jewellery by appointing individuals as AJF ambassadors for cities and countries that have an existing art jewelry scene, but tend to fall in the shadow of larger actors. This approach, and the possibility to nominate ambassadors from a country not yet represented, helps to fill gaps in the jewellery map. To an organisation giving a microphone to a variety of voices -- 2015 Jewellery Peace Prize goes to AJF.
Thanks to Diagonal Art Projects for shining light on our international activities and for brightening our day! You can see the other prize winners and read more about Diagonal Art Projects here.
Xo,
