The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

The ancient livery company, The Worshipful Company of Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers has become a special patron of the Goldsmiths’ Craftsmanship and Design Awards and has created a new prize to support the craft in the 21st Century.

A £1000 Jewellery Prize will be presented by the Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers to a winning entry which displays the innovative use of wires, either precious and/or non-precious, in an item of fashion jewellery.

Anyone can apply for investment, provided they meet the published eligibility criteria. Applicants should read the frequently asked questions and programme guidelines before completing their application. The Public Art Research & Development Fund is now open. The fund's purpose is to support the initial research and scoping of a range of public art projects and approaches to provide opportunities for communities across Scotland to engage with the development of creative places through imaginative, artist-led projects.
