The Association for Contemporary Jewellery
is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.
Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.
We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

We agree...Another successful Collect
We recently closed the doors on a very successful 14th edition of Collect, with 13,000 visits and sales estimated at £1.4 million.
Sales are expected to rise, but these early figures suggest that the international craft market is in robust health, and that interest in craft-led artwork is growing rapidly. Great news for the sector!

New Ashgate Gallery:
The Winner of Rising Stars 2018 is.....Emily Jane Bruce!
We are thrilled to announce that maker and illustrator Emily Jane Bruce has been chosen as the winner of Rising Stars 2018. Emily will receive a £500 professional development award and a solo exhibition at the New Ashgate Gallery.
Emily Jane Bruce is a Swansea based illustrator-maker. Her core illustrative skills lend themselves to her practice of soft sculpture design and creation. Emily relishes the chance to bring her drawings to life with the use of aged fabric, faux fur, and her signature sculpture techniques. As a keen collector of curiosities and antique haberdashery, Emily uses her precious tools to construct her peculiar creatures with loving, delicate-detail.
The winner was chosen for her thought-provoking and conversational work made to a high standard and we can't wait to see her solo show at the gallery in 2019.
