The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Talente aims at young artists-craftsmen and has concerning the application an age limit of 33 years of age at the time of application. Therefore, Talente is explicitly an exhibition that is devoted to presenting works of young artists-craftsmen who have finished their studies or are still studying. You can show only once your work at Talente. https://klimt02.net/forum/interviews/talente-competition-wolfgang-l...

For the third time the Trier University of Applied Sciences opens its workshops to jewellery designers and students. In eight different workshops the participants will be able to discover new artistic horizons and/or techniques and implement those into their own artistic creations. The workhops will be held by artists from Australia, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany and Portugal. In addition to the workshops there will be options to do excursions to jewellery merchants, as well as visits to the agate and coppermines within the Idar-Oberstein area.

Art Jewelry Forum seeks thoughtful, incisive writing proposals that look critically at art jewelry, ask questions that might not have easy answers, and contribute to the ongoing discourse.

How can we have critical thinking without being able to quote and being able to compare what happened in the past?

-Brewster Kahle

We're especially interested in proposals for the One on One series--a focused essay on a single object, historic or contemporary--and the One on Two series, which is a comparative essay that examines a piece of jewelry in relation to a work of contemporary art or something from another art discipline.

Our online submission process is always open, but the deadline to be included in the next Editorial Advisory Committee review is September 1, 2017. Find out more at the link.

join the Farnham Maltings board: https://farnhammaltings.com/about/vacancies/
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Farnham Maltings' voluntary Council of Management.  The council meets five times a year to agree strategy, support the staff team in meeting their ambitions and to act as custodians of the Maltings and the Museum of Farnham.

We are particularly keen to hear from people with expertise in museums, theatre, craft, property or law. We are also recruiting for the roles of Treasurer and Company Secretary.

Application details can be found on our website. Closing date 06 September.
