The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Hello and welcome to this weeks Jewelcrowd.com newsletter, oh boy what a great newsletter we have for you this week. From interviews for inspiration from the Camben Watch Company and a roundup of our favourite Oscars jewels, to news on ancient treasure and real diamonds latest knock down of lab diamonds plus news from HMRC. Best go grab a coffee, because you will want to read this from beginning to end.

While I have you - we are on the hunt to interview a jewellery agent - are you one? Or can you point us in the direction of one who would be willing to give us the inside scoop on what on earth a jewellery agent is, and should we all have one?! Hit reply and give us your thoughts on this and any other subject that might be on your mind.

By working together the jewellery and watch industry will only get stronger.

What is SCHMUCK?

Schmuck is a special show of the International Trade Fair for the Skilled Trades taking place in Munich in March each year since 1959. Jewellery art reflects its day and age. Artists may refer to a political or social background, they may be rooted in fashion or arts. The high standards and stunning inventiveness of its participants turn the international special show Schmuck into a renowned show case for trends in jewellery art world wide.

We receive about 700 applications for the participation at SCHMUCK per year. The selection is made by a distinguished jewellery teacher changing every year. https://www.hwk-muenchen.de/artikel/schmuck-74,0,1058.html#English
