The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Serf service: “Studios are less useful without people and networks”
Serf, the latest addition to Leeds' expanding workspace scene, offers much more than studio space for artists – it provides a support structure for early career artists at a crucial time in their development. Lara Eggleton reports.

Artist Led Artist Workspace Artists Studios Leeds yorkshire

Serf is the newest addition to the burgeoning workspace culture in Leeds, an artist-led, open-plan studio and project space that opened in late July. Its name positively appropriates the feudal bond between agricultural labourers and lord, whereby a plot of land is provided in exchange for protection.

There's a lot of excitement and preparation behind the scenes at AJF right now as we get ready for the upcoming trips to Los Angeles, California at the end of this month and the trip to Florence and Padua, Italy in October. While it isn't always possible for everyone to join in our public events, AJF makes sure to share what happens with you in the form of reports, reviews, and interviews about the places we go and the people we meet. You can read a fantastic interview with Lois Boardman about her collection being accessioned by LACMA; https://artjewelryforum.org/in-conversation-with-lois-boardman?utm_...
