is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.
Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.
We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

Deputy Warden and Head of the Assay Office, Dr Robert Organ poses for Professional Jeweller wtih Nagi
As a result of the work carried out to support students and apprentices across the industry through our annual event,Make your Mark, Robert Organ has been voted as one of Professional Jeweller's 2015 Hot 100 Trailblazers.
"I was both surprised and delighted to be selected for the Hot 100," commented Robert. "It is a testament to all of the hard work that the entire team put into making our dedicated student event so successful."
Hot 100 winners were asked to bring an item to the photoshoot that would reveal something about their personality. Robert brought Nagi, his Japanese Shiba Inu, who was playful and mischievious, but ultimately, when it came to the photoshoot, a true professional!
Steve Collins runs first CPD accredited course
Head of Customer Services, Steve Collins, presented to a packed auditorium at the Registered Valuers' Conference in Loughborough this month.
His talk on Fakes and Forgeries was extremely well-received and all participants qualified for Continuous Professional Development credits.
And I bet he still has all his good jokes in the talks!!
WELCOME TO THE GOLDSMITHS' CENTRE.
A unique community for jewellers, goldsmiths and the public.
Our season starts with A Sense of Jewellery, rediscovering British jewellery design through the work of 40 artists from last 40 years. In partnership with the Crafts Council, we'll be expanding on the theme of jewellery-making during the Contemporary Jewellery Study Day.
We're also excited to be offering new short courses: Micro-Setting Tips and Tricks, Presentation Painting and Design for the Jewellery Industry and the CAD Workshops Series presented by Simply Rhino.
Sign up for Getting Started, now in its 35th year, to understand how to set up in business through a week of interactive seminars. If you need more time, our Setting Out course offers studio space and tuition to achieve your goals.
From 26 to 28 November, we'll be partnering up with Craft Central for Made in Clerkenwell, bringing you the latest hand-made gifts, and opening our Cabinet of Curiosities.
So take a look at this e-newsletter or website to discover what’s on.

A Book—About You! A Call to Artists Working in Craft Disciplines.
A Book—About You!
Metalsmith David Bacharach and jeweler Valerie Hector are compiling a book, "Craftspeople In Their Own Words." This book will be all about you—the community of artists working in craft disciplines who make their living working in their studios and selling their work at craft shows.
Do you have a personal story about the craft show community? Or some great photos? Please share your stories and photos for this book. Bacharach and Hector are generously giving any money generated from book sales back to the community as a donation to CERF+.
Send your stories and photos to valeriehector@sbcglobal.net or mail@bacharachmetals.com
Thanks for your stories. Please share and spread the word!
My best,
Meg Brazill
