The Association for Contemporary Jewellery

is devoted to the promotion, representation, understanding and development of contemporary jewellery in the United Kingdom and abroad.

Founded as a membership association in 1997 and registered as a Limited Company in 2006, it recognises a need to foster discussion, debate and critical review and interaction amongst its members. To this end we organise conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and an annual general meeting for our members. Our regular newsletter, findings, features reviews, information, comment, book offers and discounts and is of benefit to both our members and the wider public. We also produce a monthly e-bulletin featuring news and opportunities.

We welcome as members practising jewellers, associated designers and crafts people, educators, students, gallery owners and retailers, museum curators, critics and collectors - indeed, anyone with an interest in contemporary jewellery.

OPEN STUDIOS

7th & 8th June, The Chocolate Factory,
N16 7SX, London

We will open our doors to the public at the Chocolate Factory in June for our Summer Open Studios. Come to enjoy our beautiful studios surrounding a cobbled courtyard situated down a back street between Stoke Newington and Dalston. There will be plenty to explore and the Open Studios provide a great opportunity to buy direct. Our next door neighbours, Jackson's Art Supplies, is a secret treasure trove and there are a range of fantastic cafes and restaurants nearby. To top it off Stoke Newington Literary Festival is taking place during the weekend making it a great opportunity for a cultural weekend in north London.

CERF+'s National Research: The Language of Craft

In this third data snapshot from CERF+’s research about the status of U.S. craft artists, we examine a highly-charged subject that comes down to one word: Craft.

Do you identify with the word “craft”? Do you hold it at arm's length or embrace it? Whether you love the word or hate it, CERF+ invites you to read what other professional craft artists are saying. And add your voice to the discussion!
