WEEKLY NEWS

Hi Rebecca
We are starting a New Series of Webcasts shortly called Talking Tools. We all need tools for our craft but the best tool for you might not be the best for someone else. With these films it is hoped Andrew can shed some light of the different varieties of tools and why some work better than others. The tool catalogues never tell you the pros and cons of the tools. Andrew is going to be honest and tell it exactly like it is.

The first Talking Tools Webcast is going to be on Saturday August 3rd at 14:30 British Summer Time. Please visit www.new.livestream.com/atthebench and click FOLLOW to be kept informed of when we release details on our WebCasts.

Finally there is only 1 place left on the Jewellery Summer School in Sedbergh, Cumbria, UK. I have seen the Programme for the 4 days and they are certainly well worth the money as there is £100 worth of materials supplied as well as BBQ's, local trips to the sights and plenty of refreshments and hot meals provided. Call Simon on 07816 292351 for more information.

Three films have gone live this week

CENTURION 2014 EMERGING DESIGNER AWARDS CALL FOR ENTRIES IS NOW OPEN!

Fine jewelry designers have a chance to show their work to the most desired luxury retail jewelry stores in the U.S. market!

Merrick, NY—Entries are now being accepted for the Sixth Annual Centurion Emerging Design Competition. Two lucky winners will receive a showcase and exhibit space at the Centurion Scottsdale show in Arizona, slated for February 1-5, 2014.

The competition, sponsored again this year by Stuller, is open to any jewelry designer who has never before exhibited in a U.S. fine jewelry trade show. The competition is open to all designers, regardless of experience, formal training, or background in jewelry design, but entrants must show lines or one-of-a-kind designs that are suitable for a luxury jewelry store environment and be capable of both exhibiting at a trade show and fulfilling any wholesale orders received at the show.

“The Centurion Emerging Design Competition is an excellent opportunity for up-and-coming and international designers to break into the U.S. luxury fine jewelry market, by getting their line in front of the most premiere audience of carefully selected prestige jewelers,” said Howard Hauben, president of Centurion. “For retail jewelers, the Centurion Emerging Design winners offer an opportunity to discover new talent to set your store apart,” he added.

Sharlinn Liew, one of the winners of the 2013 competition said, “Winning was just part of the joy! The entire experience of sharing your creations and meeting people in the trade was the complete package. An unparalleled one indeed! The Centurion Award has drawn me a lot of media attention, from Singapore's main newspapers to Hong Kong's trade magazines. It has been awesome!”

“We are honored to have the opportunity to sponsor the Emerging Designer Competition,” says Stuller executive director of marketing and public relations, Ashley Brown.  “The discovery of untapped talent is essential to the jewelry industry. And their work offers a fresh perspective on luxury design that’s both exciting and inspired.”

Deadline for entry is September 30, 2013. Entrants are required to submit up to three images of finished jewelry; no renderings or CAD drawings will be accepted. Images must be .jpg format, and each image must include a detailed description of the piece: what it is, metals, gemstones, etc.  Entries will be judged by a special judging panel, as well as by Centurion’s Board of Retail Advisors.

You recently received our initial email regarding HandMade Christmas at the O2 Arena, Greenwich, on December 13th/14th/15th 2013.

We noted via our email servicing system that you opened our attachment, we hope that you found our event exciting.

Just wanted to follow up and let you know I will be calling you to see if you need any further information or assistance in the booking procedure.

If you wish to speak with me before hand with any question, or wanting to book please do not hesitate to call me on 07879 628792.

Also wanted to point out that HandMade Christmas is a stand alone event that will be marketed as such, the 20,000 footfall per day mentioned in the brochure is in addition to the market specific footfall, we have sold out shows at the arena, every day we are open and each and every concert attendee (60,000) will be receiving an email letting them know that HandMade Christmas will be open to them free of charge.

There will be drop off and collection points for anyone wishing to purchase but not wanting to carry shopping into the show.

We have a specialist PR company working for us and the plans they have for the PR campaign is quite exciting.

O2 will be sending a text alert to every one of their customers in the London and home counties area promoting the show.

I have copied the links below for you again in case you need them.

Once again please do not hesitate to call me 07879628792 or email richpeninsula@gmail.com at any time to discuss your attendance at HandMade Christmas.
