CHAIN
crafthaus online exhibit:
November 2-December 2, 2012
Participants were asked to send one image of a piece of chain between 10 and 20 cm long. The online exhibit is the result of the images selected and linked in a long and unique chain shown on real size. These works are visually connected by a round jump link.

... A long chain that could cross the Oceans ... this idea was the starting point of Chain Project. Now, launching the exhibition online I realize, by different approach, that the initial concept of this work has been reached.
I’m very thankful to all participants that were moved by this idea, especially Brigitte Martin who promptly accepted to exhibit it on crafthaus website.
I received submissions from 130 participants, all of them of very high quality Works that made the curatorial experience very difficult and joyful at the same time.
I’m very pleased to announce that this exhibition will be presented physically from 20 Februrary to 22 March 2013 at A CASA Museum of Brazilian Object – in São Paulo, Brazil.
Now, take your time, and enjoy the show... the further information about artists and pieces are listed on a separate page following the exhibition.

Amazing chain!
This is beautiful, Marina. I so wished I could come to Sao Paolo to see this in person!
Many participants are asking for late entries, so I decided to accept images until 24, september !!
Angela, thank you for your sweet worlds! Adorei!
Ola Marina, Excelente projeto! Great initiative! I'll do, my best to send something in. I'm from Sao Paulo even if I now live in France. Good luck with the details and with putting together the material side of the exhibit. It's a lovely idea, uniting eveyone like this, we are all links and linked! Love it! Adorei!
I will certainly keep my chain for you for São Paolo!
It is off at the photographer just now and I should have the image for you soon.
I would like to add some ideas about the project at the museum exhibit the chain CASA in Sao Paulo.
My initial desire would be to mount a single stream from all the work that once assembled would be kept as a final project, in that case the chain should be donated or sold to the project, which seemed a bit complicated.
Thinking a great deal about this, I am coming to conclusion that it would be more important to create a linear representation of the chain, even without interfering with material links, just displaying the works side by side, thereby complying with all the different contributions of artists.
As the dates of exposure has not been defined yet, I'm posting only informally, and ask all participants to preserve their chain to further send to São Paulo, Brazil.
Welcome everybody! I suggest early entries!
