CHAIN

crafthaus online exhibit:

November 2-December 2, 2012

Participants were asked to send one image of a piece of chain between 10 and 20 cm long. The online exhibit is the result of the images selected and linked in a long and unique chain shown on real size. These works are visually connected by a round jump link.

Exhibition: CHAIN

... A long chain that could cross the Oceans ... this idea was the starting point of Chain Project. Now, launching the exhibition online I realize, by different approach, that the initial concept of this work has been reached.

I’m very thankful to all participants that were moved by this idea, especially Brigitte Martin who promptly accepted to exhibit it on crafthaus website.
I received submissions from 130 participants, all of them of very high quality Works that made the curatorial experience very difficult and joyful at the same time.

I’m very pleased to announce that this exhibition will be presented physically from 20 Februrary to 22 March 2013 at A CASA Museum of Brazilian Object – in São Paulo, Brazil.

Now, take your time, and enjoy the show... the further information about artists and pieces are listed on a separate page following the exhibition.

Marina just sent over the official announcement for the CHAIN project exhibition at the CASA Museum of Brazilian Object – in São Paulo, Brazil taking place February 20 to March 22, 2013.

What a great project this is. Going from the virtual crafthaus exhibition straight into a museum show. I am thrilled. Congratulations Marina and all participating artists worldwide!

Well done you all!

thank you, I just sent one e-mail to them, I also though that  would be very easy to do,  but the image is about 9m long..

There are a lot of places in the UK who do it - a superb idea, I must say - but I don't know about locally. Here is one in the UK so you can work out prices and things:

I will post pictures, of course!!

I would love to do a adhesive tape with all chain printed,  but I couldn't find one enterprise to do it.

does anyone know someone ?

I would like nothing more than to come to Brazil, but this is not, alas! possible... Can you post pictures so that those of us who can't make it can see how it looks?

I just sent the invitation letter to all participants!!

Hope you all come to Brazil, to see for real how this chain looks!

Our exhibition will  open the 2013 calendar  and that  will be just one week after the Brazilian Carnival, another good reason to visit my Country.

Marina, Time is flying past... when do you need the physical chains sent to you and to what address? I am thinking that I would like to get mine out sharp after Christmas, if that would suit you.

Hi Elena, thank you! We'll have to think for a new edition of call for artists  to add pieces on the chain or to built a new chain.

I'm very grateful to all positive comments about the project, the idea is to keep the chain project growing, and assuming different forms and sizes; for example I'd would  love to do  combinations between some pieces, to make them wearable.

I'm not sure what I'm doing right, but I really want to add the part of the chain with a piece of sun
