PARTICIPATORY SPORT FOR CRAFT ARTISTS
All artists (Crafthaus members or not) are invited to submit for "Enlighten Me." All selected work will be part of the online exhibition at Crafthaus. The show will be highlighted for one month and then have a permanent home in Past Online Exhibits. Some ideas are chandeliers, table lamps, sconces, floor lamps, accent lighting, night light, neon signs, fluorescent lighting, decorative panels, garden lights... anything that will emit light. Work in ALL MEDIA is encouraged! There is no fee for submission.
If you are not sure if your pieces will quality for the show, you may SEND them for us to look at.
Please send the following to mgcurators[at]yahoo.com:
1. Images:
Submit up to 5 pieces for consideration, each piece may be represented by 1-2 images, a full view and a detail. Include on each file image: your last name & title of the piece. Image size:.jpg format no larger than 800 pixels in any direction & 72 dpi.
2. On a Word document:
a. Brief list of materials
b. Dimensions in height x width x depth
c. Photographer/Cinematographer - let's give him/her credit.
d. Contact information for us to reach you. This will not be published or shared with anyone.
e. Artist Statement or Video/Series of Photos: A 20-word discussion about each piece is advisable, not mandatory. A statement is helpful for guests visiting the exhibition. Some artists prefer to send a link to a blog discussion on their artwork, this provides more opportunity to discuss one's work. Other artists send a link to a short video/photos discussing their art or show how the piece was made. General public will love this & gain an appreciation of the artwork!
f. Link to artist website is optional. It will encourage guests to look at additional work.
Our concern is to present each well; we will load the show several days before the opening for artists to preview.
Please send submissions to mgcurators[at]yahoo.com
Our Schedule:
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Jan 5, 2013, 9:00AM, EST but we love early submissions

I would have sent you photos already....but my ancient computer had an electrical short 17 days ago. That was scary....now we all realize how connected we are to our computers.
I am waiting, waiting for this super professional quality computer from Dell and going nuts. I would have bought off the shelf if I knew it was taking so long.....and all my images and image editing software is on the hard drive....waiting for my new computer.
super insane, in the meantime, nag at me all you want....I will look forward to hearing from you.

Have a good weekend
Marie

Permalink Reply by Glen Guarino on November 6, 2012 at 11:23am Our electricity is back on, Internet up & running. If anyone is submitting to Enlighten Me please email.
We were without electricity & heat for a week after the storm. Two trees (not our trees) are stuck in the studio roof. We have taken out all the hand tools, covered machinery & sealed up what I can until insurance kicks in.
So send in those submissions. With another storm this week, we may lose electricity again, but get back to you to confirm receipt of submission as soon as possible.

- by Rebecca Rose. 2013, SNAG/crafthaus Scholarship Recipient
For the next 13 months we'll discuss the trials, triumphs, and tribulations of exhibiting in art shows as emerging artists and established artists. Exhibition coverage will be balanced with tips on how to strategically build a legacy over a length of time, in a way that makes sense to your individual goals as an artist and maker.
Join us each month! There will be surprises around every corner, with photos, videos, SNAG conference coverage, and occasional interviews by rising artists!
