We are only about five weeks away to the Duality of Presence exhibition! Artists are sending their beautiful works to San Diego in preparation for Kerianne and I to mock up the display and make sure everything is ready to go --- Someone’s jewelry box is pretty rad right now!

From now until the start of the exhibition we will be introducing a few of the artists every week.

Up first - we are pleased to have Sharon Massey, Wei Lah Poh, and Steven Gordon Holman as a part of the DoP experience!

Sharon Massey is the Assistant Professor of Jewelry and Metals at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). Her work is inspired by the post-industrial landscape of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas. Through use of both labor and materials she pays homage to the region’s blue-collar past. The Ductwork and Brickwork jewelry series investigates the architecture of the post-industrial landscape and the metalwork within it.

After living in Pittsburgh for 5 years, she now lives in a renovated commercial structure in Homer City, PA with her husband and their dogs.

Wei Lah Poh was born in Hong Kong, but raised with a multi-cultural state of mind. She is deeply fascinated with the history of enamelware and the ongoing investigation of the found object as jewelry and adornment. Wei Lah Poh received her MFA in 2015 from RISD, and she currently lives in Point Richmond, California.

Steven Gordon Holman was born and raised in a small farming community in the West Desert of Utah. His work is a reflection on his rural upbringing, a collection of stories, myths, and iconographies both personal and cultural. Holman received his MFA from SUNY New Paltz in 2014 and now resides in his hometown with his partner Anna Kirstine Hammer, where he is training horses, exploring the desert, and researching contemporary hunting culture.
