Jenni K Professional Development and Saturday night festivities

Saturday afternoon and evening capped off the day so well.  I took a lil breather in between sessions before returning to soak in the student Guerilla Show.  There was so much amazing work; from dirt made knuckle dusters to a giant spider.  I was really in awe of the talent displayed at the symposium.

After taking a lil break from the early morning sessions I sat in on Jenni K's Professional practices workshop.  Jenni Kgraduated from ECU many years ago...not really sure the number, however since graduating Jenni has established a very successful and profitable production line business.

Jenni provided a great packet of information on budgeting, promotional tools and samples of how she runs her business.  I think that this workshop was very beneficial for students and new artists that needed some guidance and advice on how to get started with your own business.

The day was busy, creative and full of making new friends.  Clint, a painter and director of an art center in Austin was so much fun to be around, we grabbed a snack at the local pub, Christy's in between workshops  and towards the end of the day...well things got silly.

Many of us busted a move at a good ole fashioned house party over at Tim Lazure's.  Here is Jenn Well's showing off her gold fanny pack - don't mess with it!

Thank you for reading and stay tuned for next week.  I have a sweet video of David Huang imparting his chasing and repousse knowledge.

Hi everyone! I'm sad I didn't get to go this year, but to make up for it, I interviewed Laura Wood and Leia Zumbro about the conference for the Art Jewelry magazine blog. Take a look! ECU Metals Symposium Material Topics, Art Jewelry magazine blog.

The Art of Influence Exhibition at ECU during Material Topics Sympsium

was wonderful.  A truly inspiring exhibit.  Thank you to all who work on making this exhibition such a huge success and the catalogue is beautiful.  In the

exhibit there were even some Herman Junger drawings.  What a treat.

The exhibition of the presenter's work and student's work were

incredible inspiring.  All the workshops were terrific and I thank all of the

artists and presents and panel members.  I can hardly wait to return next year, but first I have to make work with my renewed energy.  Thank you to all of the professors and student of ECU.
