Believe it or not there is much more I could blog about from the Furniture Society Conference but unfortunately I am flying out of the country today and won't have my computer with me.   This summer is very special in that I have been awarded a travel fellowship to travel to Germany and Sweden to visit some important museums and schools that relate to the research I am doing to complete my MFA Thesis.  This will be my first time traveling abroad and I couldn't be more excited.  I'll be backpacking through Germany into Austria and then up to Denmark to make it to Sweden where I will visit the city of Naas which is home to the original Sloyd School.  I'm sorry if I seemed biased while blogging about the Conference including lots of information about it but I am truly excited by its philosophy and believe elementary woodworking is going to make a comeback!  I want to thankDoug Stowe for his rich body of research that he shares with all of us on www.wisdomofhands.blogspot.com.

If you are interested in following up on my traveling experiences please keep up with me on my personal blog
www.playbuildmake.blogspot.com.  I often post silly things and images but usually they relate to making in some form or another.

Thank you for reading and I hope to keep in touch with you all!  - If you have any specific questions about the Conference or would like to know more on anything I might of mentioned or you might have heard please send me an email or crafthaus message!

Thanks Again!

Oh, gosh, no more fun stuff from the conference to read:) ! I'll miss reading the latest blog. For me, you captured the essence of each subject - especially the Members Meeting one. Great job.

Brigitte, blogging representation at these conferences is a tremendous benefit of crafthaus.

Now on to some really exciting adventures.
Happy trails,
Pat
Thank you, I fully agree, Pat. Good blogging makes you feel as is you were "there" - or at least up close. Also, it is TREMENDOUSLY beneficial IMHO to look across media borders every now and then and see what other craft artists are currently doing. There are always good ideas floating around, and exciting things to see and learn, even if they do not immediately seem to pertain to one's own chosen field.

That's why I really encourage blogging on crafthaus :-) Glad it is finding its mark.

As a furniture maker who lives far far away from the Furniture Society conference, I really appreciated your blog posts - thanks so much, and enjoy your travels

Ross:

I know you are "out and about" with your work a lot. If there ever is an event, a conference or something along those lines happing in your country, I would certainly love to have it blogged on crafthaus :-)

Brigitte
