Testing Metals and Stones

Presented by Rikki Mitman as a presentation/demo

Room 211, Glassell, July 20th, Friday from 6:00-7:30 pm.

Rikki will present and demonstrate several of Jemco’s newest/most useful hand tools. Next, she will discuss and demonstrate several physical testing methods (such as acid for gold, among others) as well as electronic devices that can be used to test stones and metals. Finally, she will hold a free drawing open to HMAG members for the hand tools that were presented in the first portion of the presentation!

  • Price: $25 for HMAG members  /  $55 for non-members (includes $30 for HMAG membership)

Last Friday we had a great meeting: Diane Falkenhagen, Heidi Gerstacker, and Mary Rogers each gave a slide show, then participated in a Panel Discussion and Q&A. Freed auditorium was packed. It was great to see everybody!

 

Our next meeting will be held Friday, November 4, 2011. Mikki Lippe will be in town for workshops and has agreed to take time to give a presentation for HMAG. 

Meanwhile, in October, HMAG members juried show at Hanson Galleries – Uptown Park will run October 7, 2011 – November 2, 2011. 

Deadline for intries into this show is this Sunday, Sept. 18. Here is a link to more information:
