PARTICIPATORY SPORT FOR CRAFT ARTISTS
I have the opposite problem..and from reading the lines- and in between them- of the other posts on this discussion topic, I am not alone. I NEVER need to "find" inspiration. It is everywhere, envelopes me, surrounds me, nurtures me, disquiets me. If I lived a thousand years I could never realize even one one hundredth of the ideas rattling around in this brain of mine. There is not enough time, nor money, nor energy, nor support, nor others' belief in me that they would put their money on me, to even touch the inspirations I have every day. It is a blessing...and a curse. Do a body of work?! HOW? I am fascinated by some artists' ability to focus on one thing and do it a hundred different ways.
This crafthaus online exhibition focuses on a side of the brooch we usually do not pay much attention to: the back side. Our first look is naturally always trained at the front, but when we do take the time to look at the back of a brooch, it will oftentimes reveal a surprising little secret. Enjoy the show.

Another two-week hiatus between posts and it is only because I've been too busy to be able to find a moment to write things down. So much has happened, from being asked if I were "eligible" for inclusion in a list of "eligible bachelors" - my non-bachelor status making me ineligible for the inclusion - to being asked to write an article for a new jewellery magazine about something which isn't jewellery!
The main thing on the workbench has been another of my projects which was…
