Hi all,

In response to the question about how to send the picture files.

1) If your files are too big to send in one e-mail, please feel free to send over multiple e-mails.  Just put your name in the subject line and say "submission 1" "submission 2", etc.  I will get what you are doing.  :-)

2)  You can zip the files and send as one document.

3)  I tried out Helga's recommendation, https://www.wetransfer.com and that worked like a dream and there was nothing to download.  Please feel free to use that.

4) Finally, if you would like to send a disk to me, please message me (not Susan) privately and I will send you my home address.  I will not be able to return your disk and it must be received (not postmarked, received in my mailbox) by the March 1 deadline.

Groovy?  If there is some other method that you need to use to get the files to us, please just message me privately so I know what I am looking out for.

One other item I need to request, please keep your statement about how metal clay has taken you in a new direction at 50 words max.  We want to have three pictures from each of the juried artists in the catalog and need to make sure there is room for the statement.  For those who have already submitted and are over 50 words - if you are juried into the show, I will take a shot at editing and return to you for your approval/your edits.

Thanks everyone!

Christine

I have the ability to Zip files, but they still have to be small enough to e-mail. Let me try that first. But Drop Box works as well and it's free. You just have to download the software.

As far as converting to zip files are concerned, you could look into

Stuffit.com

It is available as a free download and works pretty well for both mac and pc users.

Hi Christi - No, we will not need your actual pieces of jewelry.  Everything that we have planned will be worked off of the electronic images submitted.  I hope you sell lots and lots at Tucson!!  Wish I could be there because I would love to see your work in person!

Hi Jackie - Let us work on your question for a day and Sue or I will get back to the group.  The first thing I thought of was zipping the file but unless you have the software, that doesn't work (unless anyone else around here knows of reputable shareware?).  Sue is going to check with her publishing contact and see what he recommends.

Sophia -OOoooo, I can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve!  :-)

Wonderful idea! I will try to submit one or two of my brand new PMC pieces for consideration.

I'm ready to submit for consideration in this exhibition, but the size of the photos prevents me from e-mailing them. Is there an FTP site? Any other recourse to mailing a CD?

One other question for you.... The judging only requires images, but will we need the actual piece for any other purpose? Will they need to be sent in? Like many of you, the Tucson show is here and practically all my work will be on my tables. Just wondering in case I get an offer I can't refuse ; ) It happens now and then, right?

Wonderful Susan!!!!

You and Christine have been a whirlwind of hard work for the past week!!

I think you've earned a lot of good karma!!!!!

The updated submission criteria has been posted both on both the Call for Entries page and here on the Interest Group page.  The major changes are that we are now accepting four entries per artist instead of three and we need pictures submitted at a higher resolution to accommodate the printing.

Our lead Juror, Ann Davis ,has requested that each submitting artist include a brief statement about how metal clay has taken you in a new direction.  This statement will be included in the catalog.

Another Juror, Gwynne Ruckenbrod, has moved from the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft as curator and is now Executive Director for HandMade In America in Asheville, NC.  Congratulations Gwynne!
