I'd categorize that as HUGE! That's amazing and wonderful!

Thank you Linda.  I agree with you on CERF.  I organized a fundraiser for them a few years back and they are so absolutely wonderful to work with and provide such a wonderful service to the art community.

Now I need to add another date correction. The continuance dates are July 17 to August 17.  Seriously. If Brigitte pops up and corrects the dates, listen to her, not me!  ;-)

You could not be working with/for a more worthy organization. CERF is high on my list (maybe even at the top), and I'm sure that Cornelia is jumping for joy right now. Terrific concept.

Can't wait to hear more specs for images and information required.

The moment you all have been waiting for……….

A PRINT CATALOG is going to be produced of the New Directions: Powder Metallurgy (Metal Clay) in a Sheet Metal World exhibition!  All proceeds from the catalog are going to CERF (Craft Emergency Relief Fund).

Thirty five artists will be juried into the online exhibition that starts April 15.   The online exhibition will display one image from each artist juried in.  Those artists who are juried into the online exhibition will then have a page dedicated to them with in the print catalog showcasing up to 3 images along with a short write up and contact information.  If we have an overwhelming number of entries that are chosen by the jurors, we may have a continuance of the exhibition with the second half of the show being online August 17 through September 17.  Participants of both online show dates will be in the catalog.  This is a wonderful way to extend the life of the show and keep attention on the catalog, increasing sales!

As you know Christine Norton and I have been working on this for several months and have volunteered numerous hours to put this together.  We are thrilled that our time can now be turned into a fundraiser for such a worthy organization as CERF.  Christine and I are still continuing to volunteer our time, but we do have to pay a designer to put the catalog together.  Those artists who are juried into the online exhibition will be asked to pay $15 to help defray production costs of the catalog.  This will not include a copy of the catalog.

We will be producing the catalog using the online publishing site Blurb.com through their Blurb for Good program.  For each catalog purchased not only will all proceeds go to CERF but Blurb will also donate an additional $1 to CERF.  The designer who will be putting the catalog together is Sam Cangelosi, a Designer for Hallmark Cards.  I have had the pleasure of working with Sam quite a lot and he seems to put up with me, until he finally figures out what it is I’m trying to explain to him ;-)  That is special, just ask my husband!

Submission criteria will change slightly.  The images submitted must be 300 dpi and we will require a little more information from you.  That will be posted (hopefully later today but it's looking more like tomorrow) after Christine and I have time to talk and agree on the requirements and make sure we have everything covered.  The $15 will NOT be paid until those artists who are juried in are notified.   Christine, Sam and I will have an incredibly tight schedule.  We will essentially have one month to organize images for jurying, get the jurying done, put together an online exhibition and produce a print catalog.  So we will be very firm with our deadlines.  Those deadlines will be in the updated submission criteria.  The March 1st image submission deadline is still in effect.

I’m sure everyone understands the production of a catalog benefiting CERF greatly increases the news worthiness of this project and the benefits to all the participating artists.  So get out there and CREATE!

Sue is glad Ann is honest and didn't use the fact that Sue was a dummy to do ornery stuff!  ;-)
