If the commercialism of the holidays drives you batty, or, if you're looking for a worthy cause to make a tax deductible end of year donation, I ask that you consider one of the following:

SNAG: Obviously SNAG is at the top of the list, being that this is the SNAG group. There's great perks for every donation level from $10 to $500. Being SNAG memembers, you already know what you gift can do for this organization. You can donate and see perks here.

ACC: The American Craft Council offers many opportunities for makers of all craft media. Your donation to the ACC would promote craft education, preservation of craft history and well as help cultivate the next generation of makers and collectors. You can donate here.

CERF: The Craft Emergency Relief Fund is an organization I hope I never need, but I'm super glad is there. CERF provides grants for artists who have suffered a "career-threatening crisis". These include natural disasters, illness and other unforeseen events. They also provide resources to artists on how protect their studio practice. You can donate here.

ARROWMONT: I'm sure we've all seen the heart wrenching images from the wildfires that tore through Gatlinburg. If you've never been fortunate enough to spend time here, I can't even describe how special this place is. Arrowmont lost only two dorms and a storage shed, when it was thought that the entire campus was lost. Obviously, they could use our help to rebuild so that they can continue to be one of the nation's best craft schools. You can donate here.

I encourage you to also investigate worthy causes closer to home. I teach at a local gallery that does a ton of youth and adult programming. They have an Amazon Wish list of items to help them in those efforts, and I'm betting other non-profits do as well. I know my students would love a bracelet mandrel.

Hopefully all your unique handmade gifts are wrapped and ready, and you have nothing to do between now and New Years except eat, drink, relax and spend time with the people you love and make a donation to a worthy craft cause!  Happy Holidays!
