Tech Text: A Compilation of SNAG Technical Articles 1975-2010

SNAG presents a collection of reprinted technical articles from the Society of North American Goldsmiths archive.Compiled and designed by SNAG News technical editor and former board member James Thurman, this evocative array delivers technical insights and advice spanning thirty years of publication.

The compilation opens with a feature from the very first issue of the organization’s newsletter in August 1975. Since then SNAG has been committed to sharing technical information for the benefit of its members and now is available to the public. Thirty-five years later, SNAG still continues this tradition, publishing regular technical articles in every issue of SNAG News.

All articles have been reprinted exactly as they were originally published, so while some information may be out of date, the authenticity affords a nostalgic millieu.
“I am honored, " says Thurman, "to be part of the lineage of editors who have been instrumental in bringing this valuable information to studio jewelers and the community.”

For veterans in the field, the collection offers an opportunity for reflection on pivotal moments and groundbreaking trends. For the collector and enthusiast, it is a valuable insight into the heart of the creative process.
