Akademie Galerie presented an excellent exhibition this year titled "Irony Forest". For those of you who are not aware,  Akademie Galerie is located in a subway station. The location alone is incredibly exciting because it invites people who are not familiar with the world of art jewelry to the conversation.

This display was made out of materials anyone can find at a hardware store. The 4x4's were suspended from the ceiling displaying work of three jewelry artists.

Work by Akihiro Ikeyama. If you are interested in seeing more of Akihiro's work, his work will be on display at Jeweller's Werks this fall in Washington DC. http://www.jewelerswerk.com

This is a very cool way to display jewelry.

Missy, Is this exhibition open at all times to the general public passing by via the subway system? I assume they have it closed off at certain times?

I do like the location very much but it seems - at least from the images I see here - that the pieces are a bit hard to make out on the wooden beams. Is that the case?

Can you describe this exhibition a bit more, please? Which subway station is this gallery at ? Do they show jewelry specifically or other artwork as well? Who runs the space?

Thank you so much for posting! As I said - great idea for a location.
