Announcing the Winners of the 2011 Crafthaus Project Grant:

A closer look:

As the above result indicates, there are 2 projects this year that both garnered a very similar amount of votes, each amounting to roughly 1/3 of all gathered votes. With a difference of merely 19 votes (0.5 %) between them out of a total of 3505, this clearly indicates that there is a strong desire in the craft community to see both projects funded. Crafthaus has therefore decided to follow the lead of the membership vote and will fully fund BOTH projects with a grant in 2011!

Here are the winners:

CONGRATULATIONS to crafthaus members Heidemarie Herb, Italy and Gigi Mariani, Italy.

Their winning project:

Project 3: Exhibition: "Sex, Drugs & Rock 'n Roll"

Project location: Germany and Italy

Heidemarie and Gigi will use the crafthaus funding towards printing a catalog for their exhibitions in Germany and Italy.

Heidemarie and Gigi will set up a new crafthaus group soon so that we all can follow along as their exhibition project takes form.

Congratulations to Jade Usackas, who won crafthaus funding for her Project 5: "My Father's Teeth" .

Project location: Canada.

Jade will use the funding towards paying for casting and finishing her pieces.

Jade has set up a group blog on crafthaus where we can follow along as she starts and finishes her project.  Read her blog and feel free to comment and ask questions!

Congratulations to the winners of the 2011 crafthaus project grant!

Start thinking about submitting a project for funding in 2012. Deadline is Aug 15 annually (more info).
