Thank you, Pat, for putting together an amazing diversity of pieces in the show!  Very humbled and delighted to be in such great company!!

Folks,

Pat reported that there have been a few comments from people who would like to still include their work in the current online exhibition because for one reason or another they missed the call the first time around. Sorry, guys. This exhibition is curated and there will be no additions at this point. However, since this topic seems to be quite popular here, just like the Studio Sanctuaries were a while back- maybe, if Pat is up for it - we can do a second run of “Signature Work” a few months down the road?

Anyone who is interested, please get in touch with Pat directly via her page, she can take it from there.

BTW: All current calls are always listed in the crafthaus online exhibition group, and everyone who signs up in that group will get every new call emailed to them automatically as soon as they get posted. I also extensively feature all calls on the crafthaus main page (left side) and in the weekly "what's new" emails sent to every crafthauser with plenty of room to meet the deadline. There really are a bunch of chances to catch these calls but I do understand that things can fall through the cracks sometimes. My suggestion therefore: Check the crafthaus online exhibition group regularly!

Glad you are enjoying these exhibitions so much! They are meant to be fun for all!!

Pat you did a wonderful job. It is good to see so many media represented.

Harriete...My statement was edited so it does not explain that I grew up just outside NYC and had always been influenced by and loved the city. There is also some brief description of how the work is made...hand fabricated, not cast.

Pat...your students are lucky to have you as their teacher.  Cheers, Tom

I know! I've no idea how I missed that.

Wonderful to read the insight behind the work. I wish everyone wrote something about the images they post. Thanks to the Justified Sinner I am adding Materials to the list.

  • Why they made it;
  • What inspired the work;
  • The title (if it has one)
  • Dimensions.
  • Materials (the term Mixed Media is good for an exhibition label only; it definitely doesn't work on line when I can't see the work in person.)

Jenny Fillius work was familiar to me, but this is the first time I heard this story.

PS. Not everything has a story, but  the dimensions and material do help me read a lot more into the photo.

Couldn't agree more, Harriete! I love seeing the work on here and very often would like to know more. I would really like to see "materials" added to your list.

Although the pieces of mine that interest me the most are generally those that are accompanied by nesting cases/enclosures, this piece, "Narrative" expresses many of my interests including: my love of ancient (and incomplete) artifacts and untranslated languages; colour, colour, colour; mystery enclosures; all joined using handmade loop-in-loop chain.
