Right now amidst everything that is happening with the Covid-19 virus it seems that we all need to tap in to a sense of connectedness and community. Having good mental health is important for all of us but we must also acknowledge that sometimes, no matter what we do, we still feel a little fragile, and that's okay. You can find out more about the project here https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jogarnerfragilepin/fragile-han... and if you would like to contribute in the social media campaign and research follow @jogarnermetal.

We hope you and your family are keeping safe and well. This remains a challenging time for many people working in the craft and trade. That is why we are delighted to tell you that today the Goldsmiths’ Company and the Goldsmiths’ Company Charity have officially launched a £1 million Goldsmiths’ COVID-19 Fund, following the initial announcement on the 9 April.
The Goldsmiths’ COVID-19 Fund provides support to individuals working in the jewellery, silversmithing and allied industries, helping them through a period of hardship, to sustain the craft, skills and future of the industry during an unprecedented period in most people’s lifetimes.
The Charity is offering grants of £1,500 (paid in equal amounts over three months) and interest-free loans to people who are self-employed, sole traders, or running micro-businesses employing four people or fewer (including themselves), who live and work in the UK, work primarily with precious metals and can demonstrate that they are in financial difficulty because of the COVID-19 crisis. It is important to stress that although this is a Goldsmiths’ Company Charity initiative, it will be equally open to members of the trade who meet the criteria, whether members of the Company or not.
Grant applications open today (21 April), and applications for the interest-free loan scheme will open in May. Those wanting to apply for a loan can register their interest from today. To apply for a grant or register for a loan visit https://bit.ly/GoldsmithsCovid19Fund
Please also complete the Goldsmiths’ COVID-19 Industry Survey. By completing this survey, people will play a small but vital role in helping to determine the structure and value of the loan scheme, which will be made available in May. https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/The_Goldsmiths_COVID-19_Industry_I...
Grant:Applicants can find out if they are eligible for a grant by completing theeligibility questionnaire. Grants of £1,500 will be awarded to successful applicants, paid in equal amounts over three months.
Interest-free Loan:Anyone who is interested in applying for a loan can register early by completing theGoldsmiths’ COVID-19 Industry Survey.
Industry survey:The Goldsmiths’ Company wants to understand how the COVID- 19 crisis is impacting businesses in its industry. It is asking everyone who works in the craft and trade to complete theGoldsmiths’ COVID-19 Industry Survey. The results will help finalise the shape of the loan scheme.

We also have a Facebook ACJ community group where you can discuss any ACJ or jewellery related topics, tell people about your exhibitions and ask any questions you might have. The sixth round of our Hardship Fund has now closed. 10 applicants, chosen at random, have been notified. Round 7 is now open for applications. Like the previous round, we will use £500 of the donations from our GoFundMe page to fund 5 more artists; we will match this to help a total of 10 artists.
In attempt to alleviate some of the COVID-19 stress Matthew Burrows has instigated the artist-led initiative #artistsupportpledge. If you haven't seen it already on social media, the concept is simple; you post images of you work that you are willing to sell for up to £200 each (not including shipping). Then every time you reach £1000 in sales you pledge to buy another artist's work for £200.
"This creates a dynamic culture and market, where all can contribute, whatever their level of success. This is a culture dependent on the honesty and generosity of our artistic communities at every level. So make a pledge and post your work with the #artistsupportpledge" - Matthew Burrows https://www.instagram.com/artistsupportpledge/?utm_source=Axisweb+M...
