ARTIST STATEMENT

As I work my way through constant sensory overload, my enameling and metalsmithing pursuits explore ideas relevant to current brain-dominating subject matter. Frequent mind disturbances include nuclear power, planet degradation, imaginary space objects and creatures, molecular & cellular structures, mathematical pursuits, and all of their inter-connectedness. As a general rule, I am attempting t0 resolve the battle for brain dominance between chaos and geometry, expressing inner turbulence through abstract or geometric drawings.

Seeking to bear witness to a world scarred and degraded by abuses both vast and negligible, i invite the viewer into a space of speculation and hopefully, discussion. Perhaps from a very simplistic view, the world seems to boil down to a few “roots of all evil” and yet, in its own majesty, it is built on very sound mathematical principles. My work is a constant expression of how these “trouble spots” intertwine with all the beauty that geometry offers our planetary existence.
