My favorite, the Splenda Bustle. I'm not a fan of floral felt in general, but yours has an edge that pushes past representation, especially the aperture like interior of Dux, very nice.
Your work looks great. It's nice to see you on crafthaus. I'm on break enjoying time with all of my boys, and trying to get some work done. I'm also installing the annual metal exhibition this week in the Link Gallery. I have eight undergrads graduating! What do you remember about your years here? Can you believe that you finally went on to get that MFA! You did great! I'm so proud of you. Will you go to SNAG?
I don't think you would have made this body work if you had not sat out so long. I think you needed time to gather all those valuable experiences so that you had something of importance to comment on. Your thesis work shows a maturity that a lot of recent graduate work lacks. I will be at SNAG. I was just in Philly presenting the Jewelry Awards for NICHE in February. I wish the conference were in another city if only for that reason.
Lilyana,
Thanks for the comment. The theater person in me keeps thinking about your bustle, envisioning it in a production of the play Tartuffe, which is usually done in period costume "Life is Splendid. Bustle" would be so much more interesting!
Hi Lilyana,
I am an undergrad here at CSULB, I am graduating this May with my BFA in Metals. I really love the program here, Susanna has really hepled me grow as an artist. I am not sure if I am going to grad school yet, but I was looking at the program over at SDSU. How is it over there? By the way, your work is amazeing!
Yeah, me too. I didn't get the invite note from Jill until after I booked my flight. How lame is it that we can get that freakin' close to a show all the way across the country and not make it? I hear she is going to have catalogs at SNAG!
Hi Lilyana, it was great meeting you and I am looking forward to seeing you at SNAG. I really respond to you latex pieces and apron forms--very nice and really well done!!!
