Since I can remember, art has been a strong influence in my life. I come from Mexico, a country that is so rich in traditions, culture and art. Everything that surrounded me when I was a child living in Southern Mexico (Chiapas) was very important in my formation. I think that I felt more in love with my country when I moved to live in the USA. I miss so many things. This great passion for my culture motivated me to take my first class in metals in San Antonio, Texas. I had so many ideas in my heart that needed to come to life and metal smithing allowed me to do that. . My inspiration comes from my big love for my culture and traditions and this love allows me to create pieces with much soul. -

Tanks...this is one piece I wish I still had. Funny I should hear from you. I was just admiring your "birds" last night! Very nice. Your work has a lot of passion!!!
Hasta luego,
Aimee:-)
Hi Lorena, thank you for adding me to your friend's list. I have been to Oaxaca and saw a lot of folk art there. I enjoy transformation from clay to metal on your work!
Lorena,
The historical influence is so clear in your work, and you handle it beautifully. The work is lovely and I'm happy to join your group of friends.
Hi Lorena,
I love your work as well. Amazing! I am working with PMC too but I am a complete novice..........your pieces are inspiring to me! I look forward to our association! Ciao ~ Susan
It's nice to meet you too, Lorena! I really enjoyed seeing all that you are doing with bronze and copper clay especially the inlay. I do lots of work in silver clay, but haven't gotten to the other metals yet--just in the 'look and imagine' phase. So much to do, so little time. Thanks for the nice comment on the Thrive pendant.
Lorena, Congratulations--I just saw two of your pieces featured in the Metalclay Artist Magazine; a Milagro-style piece and your bronze butterfly for The Butterfly Project. Both were wonderful!
Hi there Lorena! You're my first friend on Crafthaus! I almost joined earlier last year, but kept putting it off. So, imagine my surprise, when I came on to join today I saw a friendly face....YOURS! Have an outstanding new year. :)
Hi Lorena, Thanks for the welcome. I finally made myself get going with this site and am sooooo glad I did! I'm really looking forward to getting to know all of you fabulously talented artists a little better :D
Congratulations, Lorena, on being a Featured Artist. Your colorful work reflects your heritage and, certainly, anyone who wears your rings, must be called uponto tell its story!
This could easily be done on a yearly basis and I hope you will continue this venue. I will most certainly do my effort to participate in the next one.
