In creating new work, I consistently look to preexisting forms and structures that share a background of utility and functional design. I find clarity in tasking a seemingly simple, functional object and reconfiguring it somehow. Form, material, and process are all critical components; by engaging formal and functional issues, I create incongruous objects.

    i am so excited to be a part of the first five exhibition! i'm glad your students like the buckles, i am partial to the mokume as well, love the dirty work! I think my brother and sister who live in denver will try to make it out to see the show, and i have to say, your work rocks!!
