    Brenda,

Welcome to crafthaus, the network for fine craft artists and those who support them! I am very glad you joined us! Your crafthaus membership is valid through July 15, 2012.

Please look around and add your thoughts to the groups, blogs and discussions. Crafthaus is a participatory sport!

Please note that ALL images sent to the website editor are vetted to assure a measure of overall quality control. Unlike other image sharing websites, crafthaus is not a "free-for-all". Our members present their work in front of an educated and critical audience (their peers,) so the photos have to be GREAT. Our goal is to show our members' work in the best possible light. From the many images received daily, we aim to post as many as possible. Crafthaus heartily encourages comments from the membership, however, with regard to photos posted or not, we have a strict "NO WHINING" policy in effect!

If there are ever any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to email me via crafthauseditor@live.com anytime, I will do my best to be of help.

I hope you will enjoy being with this network, and will find the exchanges interesting and fun.

    Again: Welcome !

    Brigitte Martin
    Crafthaus Editor

Yes, married name. My husband is from Rocky River, OH, just outside of Cleveland on Lake Erie....Lots of Schwede's in that area. Gram Schwede (passed away years ago) but was German. Interesting to find out if the names are related in some way, seems likely with how unusual Schwede/Schweder is....

Thanks Brenda! Three cheers for Wisconsin makers!

Thanks you so much Brenda. I don't use steel a lot, but tried some for the Ferrous show. I like your work also, and now, I remember seeing it before, somewhere else.

I found out using brass bits to fuse works wonderful, and when I smooth with the sanding disk, looks like gold.

I very much long to be in VDV. This is my first try.

I just posted the work I am using to jury at VDV. Some of it is already posted with pics I took, but I just had a professional in Milwaukee take some for me. Then, I made the earrings, and took my own pic for them. I will be on pins and needles until I hear from them.

I remember now seeing your work in Art Jewelry. I think the last roll of steel I bought was because of that article.
