Hi, Masako -- things are going pretty well, too busy with work, but what else is new!?! Our semester starts tomorrow.
How are things with you? I'm glad to see you on Crafthaus -- I'll get to see pics of your new work!
  • Islay Taylor

Thanks! I really like the bodily quality of your work... Beautifully grotesque. Are those polyps silicone???

    Hi Masako!

Things are going well-I'm teaching at Kent, which is great, and just trying to stay on top of things. How about you? Do you like Bowling Green?

    hi masako,
    thanks for your comment.
yah, i also think of the times when we modeled for each other. haha.

  • nisa blackmon

    Hello, Masako,
I was just looking at your photos again and was reminded of how much I love your work! I think that not seeing them for a while makes them seem even more powerful.
How are you doing? I am happy today -- just got word that my enameled microscope is going to Oakland, CA, for the 12th Biennial Enamelist Society Exhibition! Hurrah!

    Masako,

The photo in Metalsmith is fantastic. Congratulations! I'm so proud of you.

    Masako,

Don't give up on the idea of proposing a raw space installation. A gallery would not have to give up their gallery space for your large works. A raw space would take more effort on your part. The work may even be more visible. You could propose this to any number of galleries.

I'm off to grad seminar this morning. Eun Yeong and Kristi will present. And, two new grads will join the program this coming fall.

Everything is going well at ECU. I am teaching an enameling class and working away on my art for grad school. How are things in Bowling Green?

    Hi, Masako!!
I just got your postcard for the Surgical Museum show -- FAR OUT!!! That is totally wonderful & I think your work is PERFECT for this venue. I am thinking about going up for SOFA; maybe i can go over and see it! Is this new work, or a mix of old and new? I recognize the balloon piece from your UIUC days -- did you re-inflate balloons for all those wire frames? You go, girl!
    big hugs,
    nisa

    Thanks Masako!
My summer is going great. Classes were done a week ago and Melissa has put me to work at home. Lots of digging. We're putting in a substantial garden and raising chinckens. I was just thinking about you and our ongoing plans to (trade?) workshops. I think we just need to pick a week for you to come this way and figure things out that way. Let me know.

    Thanks Masako!
