I am a studio jeweler creating hand-made art jewelry. I use hollow fold formed pods, natural stones along with hand-made clasps in original designs. I teach workshops at art centers (including Mendocino, CA; Richmond art center, Richmond, CA; Revere Academy in San Francisco, The Ranch near Seattle.) and at my own studio in Berkeley, on specific techniques including clasps and fabrication/engineering challenges.
I exhibit in craft shows, out of my studio showroom and at galleries nationally.

    Alison:

    Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

    Unfortunately, I have no control over the ads that you can see in the upper right corner on crafthaus. This is a google feed from the "ning" host that I can neither divert nor control in any way. These ads come with the package when you set up the site and in order for them to go away completely, I would have to pay "ning" a monthly fee, which in turn I would have to charge the members as well. When I set up the site, it seemed to me that the ads were geared toward art related business and initiatives which might be of interest to some of us and therefore I felt I could spare everyone the expense of having them removed. Also, I do not receive any kind of fee from crafthaus members visiting advertised sites or using the advertised services. This is simply something that comes with the "ning" host.

    When I received your mail this morning, I looked at craftaus to see the ad you mention for myself but I did not have the same ad feed, maybe because I am in Pennsylvania ?

    In any event, if this is something that you saw in another section of crafthaus, such as a member fed section, please let me know. That I do have influence over. crafthaus is not a political site and I can delete inappropriate content as long as it's member created.

    I didnt see anything offensive in that matter on my end either. I'm sorry you got to see it however it showed up. I think I share an opinion with many other artists that I want all my friends to have the same right as me. I hope you can be relieved to have friends on your side.
