Based on an original 11th century Viking-era blade, this sword features a heat-treated 5160 high carbon steel blade made by Albion Swords. The crossguard, pommel and grip were from a previous piece produced by C.S. Hanwei used during the filming of the PBS NOVA special, “Secrets of the Viking Sword”. The finish and sharpening were done by me (Crescent Moon Armoury). Comes with a wood and leather scabbard. The blade has been finely ground and polished to produce a differential cutting edge, just as the historical originals had. The blade is sharper at the tip and duller at the ricasso to facilitate half-swording (gripping the blade). But, make no mistake, this is a real weapon capable of powerful cuts.
