The huge, structurally necessary steel beams used in construction of large buildings are often completely hidden under the facade of other materials. How can this concept be applied metaphorically to human lives? What structural components are crucial to our existence, but hidden away? What is the necessity of keeping these precious structures out of plain sight?

These post earrings measure approximately 3/4" tall by 1/2"wide and 1/4"deep. Materials consist of .925 sterling silver with a brushed finish and 14k gold solder. Due to the nature of oxidation (darkening due to exposure to air) the bright silver will gradually darken, or tarnish, which will enable the gold lines created by the solder to show up bright in contrast. If this is not desired, the exposed bright silver can be gently polished with a polishing cloth to stay in its current color condition. The dark recessed areas will remain dark.
