Way cool! I bet that made your year! I've had the oil paste not work for me. What is your secret? I allowed it to dry for several days,  and then fired it per the instructions, and it didn't work. I hate the warpage from firing all at one time. i even cut a hole in the top layer, but still get warpage.

By the way, this is my "celebrity" piece. The actor Joe Pantoliano purchased it from me along with another piece when I met him at a retreat center last year. It was very exciting for me.

Hi Janet,

I always cut a decorative hole behind where the stone is going. the piece does tend to dome a bit, but not too much.

I also do bezels by prefiring the base, then attaching the bezel using art clay oil paste and firing a second time. That method eliminates all warpage.

It isn't warped like most metal clay that has a fine silver bezel in it. What is your secret?

Hi Janet. Thanks for the compliment. It's made with fine silver bezel wire which was embedded into the metal clay and fired in place. Then I brushed, polished and patina'd the piece before setting the stone.

Nice design! What did you use for the bezel?
