Homage to Tim
This locket was inspired by the works of Tim Burton. The fine silver loop-in-loop chain measures 42cm or 18 inches long. The sterling silver locket measures 2 inch long by 1 and-a-half at its widest point. There are three small garnets stone set inside, along with a copper swirl, pierced silver heart & silver balls. A rich patina brings out the mixed textures and depth of the piece.
While making the locket, I kept thinking about the beauty found in all of us, that is trapped somehow behind a gate. Whether it be a gate of our own making, or of the culture in which we live.

I come from a very different background than most at the conference. I apprenticed with a self taught flutemaker.
